- OSHA regulates aerial lifts as scaffolds (1926.453)
- Fall protection required
- Full body harness with lanyard
- Fall Protection not required on scissor lifts if there are guardrails
- However, if Manufacturer, Rental Company or General Contractor requires the use
- Anchor Points Manufacturer installed
- Always close entrance chains or doors
- Stand on floor of bucket or platform
- Do not climb on or lean over guardrails
- Fall arrest systems could tip over some boom and/or scissor lifts due to fall stopping force
- Ground controls shall not be operated during use, unless instructed to do so by person in the platform or in an emergency
