MEDEVAC is the timely efficient movement and en route care by medical personnel of the wounded, injured, or ill patients from different locations to medical treatment facilities. Highly experienced, specialist medical crew alongside intensive care physicians, accompany patients during their medical repatriation, and in the event of a medical emergency, they can intervene immediately.

The primary purpose of using a helicopter for medical transport is to save time while maintaining appropriate, specialized critical care capabilities for the patient. This applies in cases where getting the patient to appropriate care quickly is essential and also in situations necessitating minimizing time outside of the critical care facility.

After taking this course, you will be able to describe measures that can influence the safe operation of an air ambulance. You will be able to identify aeromedical crew members, as well as understand the process of preparing and transporting patients via Medevac.

At the end of this course, you will have 2 attempts to achieve an 80% or above on the final exam to receive your Certificate of Achievement!  Enjoy the course, and please fill out the survey at the end!
