Load Securement Training

Cargo/load securement is a fairly simple security concept. Items carried in or on your vehicle are expected to remain in the vehicle until ready for removal. The concept applies to almost anyone who operates a vehicle to conduct business. The first vehicle category we usually think of is semi-trailers, but this also includes dump trucks, commercial vehicles, pickup trucks with or without trailers, and in some cases, sedans.

A business may transport products, parts, tools, or any number of items in support of customers or their business. Fleet managers and their companies are responsible for ensuring that these items are transported safely, efficiently, and without damage. Failure to properly secure items in transit can result in property damage, personal injury, or death. Claims from these incidents cost companies hundreds of millions of dollars a year. However, most of these incidents can be prevented.
