Lead is one of the most common toxic elements found in industry and is a leading cause of workplace illness. According to the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, despite improvements in public health policies and substantial reductions in blood lead levels (BLLs) in adults, lead exposure remains an important health problem worldwide.  Workers are exposed to lead as a result of the production, use, maintenance, recycling, and disposal of lead material and products. Lead exposure occurs in most industry sectors including construction, manufacturing, wholesale trade, transportation, remediation and even recreation.

Employers are required to protect workers from inorganic lead exposure under specific OSHA lead standards covering general industry, maritime, and construction.

In this course we will discuss where lead is found, why it is harmful and what you need to do to stay safe when dealing with lead.

At the end of this course, you will have 2 attempts to achieve an 80% or above on the final exam to receive your Certificate of Achievement!  Enjoy the course, and please fill out the survey at the end!
