One potential hazard is flammability. To prevent fires, hazardous liquids require special precautions in storage, handling, and use. Storage of flammable and combustible liquids is usually a necessity. Whenever flammable and combustible liquids are stored improperly, however, they become a significant fire hazard. Good housekeeping is important wherever any chemicals, including flammable and combustible liquids, are used. Keep all areas where these liquids are stored, handled or used clear of burnable materials. Osha has strict guidelines for the handling and storage of these types of chemicals.
