Face Protection:

Safety glasses must be worn properly by all personnel outside office buildings. Safety glasses shall meet the ANSI Z87 standard and have ANSI approved side shields. Face shields and or safety glasses are required when operating abrasive and/or wire wheel grinders and when pressure washing. Hard hats meeting the head protection ANSI Z89.1 standard must be worn outside of office buildings. Hearing protection must be worn when working in areas that are marked hearing protection required or areas where the noise level is above a conversational voice level.

Body Protection:

Hi-VIZ safety vests must be worn properly by all personnel outside office buildings. Cut-resistant gloves are required when handling sharp objects and/or metal shavings, chemical-resistant gloves are required when handling solvents and anti-vibration gloves required when impacting. Welding curtains must be placed around the work area where welding and grinding operations are being performed. Welders must wear helmets with the appropriate lenses to shield against weld arc. Safety shoes must be worn in operating and maintenance areas except when remaining in designated aisleways. Safety shoes shall be a fully enclosed leather upper that covers 100% of an individual’s foot below the ankle, with a defined heel and meet the ANSI Z41 standard.
