Load Charts for Cranes

Structural limitation are shown as bolded capacities or capacities listed above a bold line on the chart. If you exceed the crane’s capacities in these configurations the crane will fail structurally.  Stability limitations are below the structural limitations. If you exceed the crane’s capacities in these configurations the crane will overturn.

• Hydraulic crane load charts will typically show the configuration of the crane at the top of each page. Examples being outriggers fully extended, on tires, jib, or pick and carry. Sometimes this is spelled out and sometimes they will use symbols.
• In each chart your reference points will be load radius, boom length, and boom angle.
• If to are planning a lift and the chart is blank for the planned crane configuration. This means that the crane is not rated to lift any weight in that configuration.
• Lattice boom crane charts will have different sections of chart based on the lengths of boom that have been attached.
• It is important to note the deduction for each crane. This must be deducted from your capacity. See the example below.
