WHY IS SECURITY IMPORTANT ?

Oil and Gas industry could be targeted by terrorist because:

• The products that are handled at offshore facilities are potentially explosive
• Oil and Gas are important to national security and the global economy
• Oil represents our nation’s success

WHAT IS TERRORISM ?

Terrorism is the use of violence to scare a group of people as a way to achieve a political goal. Violence (as bombing) committed by groups in order to intimidate a population or government into granting their demands. It is the job of law enforcement agencies like the FBI to determine if a threat exists.

September 11, 2001 has changed the way Americans live and will continue to live.  Americans must be increasingly aware of the threats from TERRORIST. The threats to Americans are real. Some threats include boats, ships and facilities in the Gulf of Mexico.
