Machine Guarding

Machines and equipment must not be operated unless all guards are in place and safety devices are in operating condition.

Loose clothing and/or flowing ties are prohibited when working in operating areas where personnel are exposed to moving equipment. Sleeves must be buttoned unless it creates a hazard, and sleeveless shirts and shorts are inappropriate.

No guard shall be removed until equipment has deenergized unless a deviation has been approved by HSE and plant management.
