Lock Abandonment Removal

All locks that shall need to be removed without the owner present shall refer to the Attachment F – emergency lock removal form under the CiMSA’s lockout/tagout procedure record.

• Prior to the removal of a lock without the owner present, all reasonable efforts must be taken to communicate with the lock owner via text or verbally to get authorization to remove the abandoned lock.
• The emergency lock removal form shall be filled out and authorized by CiMSA supervision / management.
• Lock abandonment may result in disciplinary action.
