Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPS) are a piece of machinery used to provide temporary access to high, hard to reach and otherwise inaccessible areas. MEWPs are used predominately for completing work at height in the construction industry. An aerial lift is any vehicle-mounted device used to elevate personnel, including:
- Extendable boom platforms,
- Aerial ladders,
- Articulating (jointed) boom platforms,
- Vertical towers, and
- Any combination of the above.
