Avoid lifting & bending when you can.  Place objects off the floor; use carts, dolly’s or other lift assist devices. Reduce the amount of weight to be lifted.  Use lift handles & straps.  GET HELP!

Question:  Which is better for your back, pushing a cart or pulling a cart? Answer: It is generally considered better to push a cart, dolly, lawnmower, wheelbarrow, etc. than it is to pull it. However, if you do have to pull it, consciously force yourself to tighten your stomach muscles and try to maintain good body posture.
